I have lived a long time with pain. I had my first car accident at 15. I had been using passive modalities like massage and chiropractic for years, never seeming to get better. Then I had a concussion that brought on more pain than I could ever imagine. Things weren't looking good. I went to massage school myself to learn more about the body.

At first, I had more questions than answers. I also engaged in a lot of different treatments, essentially creating my own multidisciplinary circle of care. I got better. Ten years of chronic pain were minimal. Then, the week after graduating, I got into another car accident. I felt pretty defeated at this point. But I had grit. I stuck with my new career despite excruciating low back pain. And I read about pain, just about everything I could get my hands on.

I did it again. Reduced my pain levels from extreme to at least somewhat functional. And if that doesn't sound like an amazing feat, trust me, it is. A colleague at my first massage job got me my next job, an absolute dream job. Working at the Pain and Wellness Centre, a chronic pain dream team. I took courses and picked their brains and continued reading. They taught me how to manage my own pain better than ever, all while learning how to treat hundreds of people in similar boats.

Eventually, I began teach about pain myself. My life's mission is to get the message out to as many clients and RMTs as possible. Any knowledge I have to share, from my foundations as a Biology Undergraduate, to what I've learned from my time at the Pain and Wellness Centre, to my lived experience. It all has value.

I moved to Sudbury and live happily with my family enjoying the outdoors whenever I'm not working on massage and related things. I hope to have a positive impact on the community up here. I may approach things a little different, but maybe that's just the kind of expertise you've been looking for. I hope to join you in your journey and see what goals we can chase together.
